Gordon's first foray into the art world was in 1961 at the age of seven when he began to draw
birds and architecture. Travelling out with his family during the day , he would sit at home in the evenings drawing the images
from memory. Three years later he began singing, although he had a good voice no one took him seriously and so it fell
by the wayside. He returned his focus to the world of art, and at the age of 14 a number of his artworks were seen both
in exhibition and privately and were subsequently purchased. Of these some pottery items travelled to Europe while printed
artworks fould their way to Australia and Canada. It might be that some of these works still survive in private collections. Working with his father, Charles, Gordon entered the world of photography. They sold many prints privately and unofficially
to staff and pupils at the College of Art and Design in St Albans. Printing in Greyscale and colour, they were amongst the
first on the amateur scene to print in Cibachrome in the 1970's. Gordon and Charles entered few competitions and
those they did enter they usually won. The last competition they entered they took eight from nine places, 3 firsts, 3 seconds
and 2 thirds. Gordon later presented images involving new ideas and styles to small competitions to gauge audience responses
but still found success in the placings. After indulging a few years into wedding photography, On his last outing during that
time, Gordon had an acceptance to the Mondane International during the early 1980's afetr which he was forced to move
away from photography due to rising costs and other commitments. In 1973, having been told that he would never achieve
anything by both his English and History teachers at school, Gordon produced his first book compilation on the history of
space travel. As a project it comprised two volumes but was never published. On the first of November 1994 Gordon published
his first book of poetry followed by a
series of management and computer training books, along with Cookery, poetry, history and genealogy pamphlets and books totalling
over 100 publications, his work was accepted into a number of poetry compilations and recieved an 'International Poet
of Merit' award from the American International Poetry Society. After the death of Charles, Gordon returned to his family home in Welwyn
in 1998, and by accident began researching local history, building a substantial archieve of data. He later became the founder
chairman of the Welwyn Historical Society, staging successful annual history exhibitions, but resigning after two years due
to work commitments. In 2005 Gordon published the first of three books on the history of Welwyn followed by a book on
the history of his school, Welwyn St Mary's Secondary School, and a compilation of his Poetry and Short Stories entitled
'Reflections'. His current literary project is a History of his family which will probably never be published. In 1998 circumstances allowed Gordon to return to his former love of singing, Giging on the amature circuit in the UK and
gigs in Europe, from 1999 to 2007 when ill health forced him to stop, although he continued to sing with friends in christmas
concerts each year. In 2011 he has replaced his equipment and is again looking to entertain the public. By 2000 Gordon
had again picked up his cameras but it was not until 2006 that he turned the lens onto the natural world. Soon after he went
digital and began mixing the photographs with his art to produce the stunning images we see today. Even then he was reluctant
to show the results of his work believing that no one would be interested in seeing them. It was his wife who suggested
producing some fridge magnets to offer for sale through the internet, Gordon was stunned to find people all over the world
wanted to buy them. In the following year the magnets sold worldwide. The first went to the UK, followed by sales in many
states of the USA, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, China, and most of the countries in Europe. His work can be viewed
in his online galleries and purchased through his shop. His work can also be found in the artflakes and Deviant Art Galleries,
the Saatchi Online Gallery, 3d Virtual Art Space gallery, Slideshare and others.
